What is going on with Robert Pattinson's Beard??

Robert Pattinson Known as Edward Cullen from the Twilight Saga Series by Stephanie Meyer has grown some type of wildebeest or animal on his face and it looks disgusting. I don't understand why he doesn't just shave it off. ROBERT IF YOU DON'T DO IT I WILL!!!!!!
